The BNED Product Development organization is responsible for supporting the business segments through the development, management and go-to-market execution of world-class, demand-driven products and services.

The Product Manager is critical new role in helping BNED transform into a true “digital-first” organization. The Product Manager will work closely with the business units to identify, develop and bring to market new, innovative products and services (and help re-position existing offerings) for BNED’s B2B/Institutional markets that will position BNED as a market leader in each of those new offerings.


  • Developing and articulating the vision for each product and services offering

  • Maintaining a detailed competitive offering analysis

  • Collecting product requirements and specifications

  • Developing the short-term and long-term product roadmap

  • Providing leadership and direction on go-to-market planning and strategy

  • Tracking and reporting of KPIs for each product or service


  • 5-7 years of experience in product management. Experience delivering web applications, consumer technology solutions and/or B-to-B product development with a preference for SaaS and/or higher education services experience. MBA preferred, though not required.

  • Proven track record in defining and launching successful software products/features.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to details with the ability to process large and complex information and derive specific actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working directly across multiple stakeholder types of various cultural & organizational background.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on emerging trends, technology and features

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce product requirements in user stories to drive product development and provide product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders including senior management.

  • Strong work ethic. Self-starting personality with the ability to problem solve and develop creative solutions.

  • Experience collaborating with design team and beta testing to optimize usability. Have an eye for simple and compelling user interface.
